Belgo, the iconic Belgian-themed bar-restaurant operated by Casual Dining Group, has opened a brand new site in the heart of London. Located on Soho’s Old Compton Street, it is the fifth location for Belgo, which is best known for its mussels, frites, rotisserie chicken and extensive Belgian craft beer menu.
The 3,500 sq ft site, which spans two floors and comprises a total of 150 covers, opened its doors on 23 July. The new restaurant includes four individually-designed caves in the basement that will celebrate the history of the Belgo story, and which are available for pre-booking, while the ground-floor features an open kitchen. In addition the site has two bars to accommodate over 60 Belgian beers.
James Spragg, managing director of Belgo and Café Rouge, said: “The Old Compton Street site is an opportunistic first addition for many years to the collection of Belgo restaurants which as a brand are performing strongly and we expect this one to be a big hit too. We are keeping a look out for more sites for a brand that after 20 years could not be more on trend with today’s customers.”
